대학시절 공모전은 추억이란다.

너희는 공모전을 가끔 취업을 위한 수단으로 생각하는 경우가 많더구나.
그래 분명히 맞다. 그래서 상을 받는다면 더 없이 좋은 것이지.

제자들이 상을 받으면 아마 너희 보다 10배 이상 좋은 것이 나이기도 하다.

그동안 대상을 받은 제자도 있었고 여러 상을 수상해 뿌듯하기도 했지만
공모전은 말이지...... 사실 '상'이 중요한게 아니라 '참여'가 더 중요한 거란다.
그리고 그 과정이 더 중요하단다.

취업 때도 마찬가지다. 너희가 참여하는 공모전 하나하나의 느낌과 그 과정을
오히려 자기 소개서에 적어보아라.

'000 공모전 00상 수상'  그래 이것도 좋지. 그런데 이것 보다

'000 공모전 도전' - 도전 후 나의 부족한 점 분석 ->  000000000
이것도 생각해 보도록 해라.

내가 과거 신입사원을 선발하면서 면접을 하거나 제출된 서류를 수백건 보면서
느낀 점은 천편일률적인 자기소개에서 벗어나야 한다는 점

특히 내실을 중시하는 / 기본에 충실한 인재라는 인상을 주어야 한다는 점이란다.
'공모전 수상' 보다는 어느 한 분야에 도전하면서 그 과정 중 '공모전'에도 도전하는 모습.

이것이 진짜 공모전을 취업에 활용하는 방법이다. 그리고 자신이 도전하는 분야였다면 당연히 결과의 원인 분석도 가능할 것이고 그런 것을 모두 기록으로 남겨 보길 권한다.

나도 20여년 전에 공모전 백전백패^^의 전적을 갖고 있단다. 그런데 그 때 그 기록들과 작품은 아직도 갖고 있다. 상과 무관하게 나름대로 의미를 부여하고 문제를 찾았던 것 그것은 자산이고 소중한 추억이란다.

과정에 충실하고 기본을 지키는 자세로 소중한 추억을 만들어라. 그것이 요즘 대학가에 넘쳐나는 공모전에 접근하는 자세란다.  수상실적 모으기에 급급하기에는 대학시절은 너무 소중하단다.  많이 떨어져라. 지금 아니면 언제 떨어져 보겠냐^^  대신에 자신감 충만한 대학생들이길 바란다.

PR을 하려면 그정도 배짱은 있어야지.....

    교수님 블로그를 눈팅 아닌 눈팅을 하면서, 처음 글을 남기네요:)

    저도 이번 공모전을 마치고, 솔직히 마감이 23일이라니 말이나 되는 소리냐면서 공모전을 주최한 모 기업을 탓하기만 했던 것 같네요ㅠ

    공모전이 끝난 후, 끝났다는 안도감과 해방감에 휩싸여,
    저의 수많은 부족한 점을 찾는 것을 망각한 것 같습니다.

    저희가 했던 공모전에서 부족한 것을 보완해서 다음에는 좀 더
    옹골찬 개념을 가지고 공모전에 도전해보겠습니다^^

      도전이 중요한 것이고 또 학생은 일단 학교 공부가 우선이고 그 다음에 여러 경험을 하는 것이니 넘쳐나는 대학생 대상의 PR전술에 너무 몰입하지 말고 우리 갈 길을 가야겠지?^^ 열심히 해라.
